would a GeForce 7900 Duo be any good? i know its dated, and is probs a dx9 card (at best) but would it play newer games on low-mid settings with reasonable framerates?

Forget GeForce 7000 series...even 8800GT/9800GT (same card) would be around twice as fast as the 7000 series top range, and you should be able to find it 2nd hand at around £35-£40. At £40-£50 you could may be get 2nd hand GTS250/4850 512MB.
ok, been looking at 2nd hand ones and the 8800GTS and 8800GTX seem to be going for £25-£40, thing is, they seem to all be dual DVI out, i want to connect it to my tv, so would ideally need to go into the hdmi socket, but obvs DVI doesnt carry audio. so im guessing a DVI-HDMI adaptor would not rectify this, and the HDMI sockets on my tv dont allow an extra audio in. so is it possible or do i need to look at cards with HDMI out, if so, what sort of card would fit in the £20-£40 bracket 2nd hand with HDMI out?
