Hello Guys

I am lucky enough for my parents to buy me a newer graphics card from the one i own at the moment which is the Geforce 9400 GT
for xmas

Anyone own the Geforce GTX 260 Sonic 216
i see that the factory Clocks are higher

Chipset nVidia Geforce GTX 260
Video Memory Installed 890MB DDR3
Core Clock Speed 625MHz
Shader Clock Speed 1296MHz
Memory Clock Speed 2200MHz
Processor Cores 216
Shader Model 4.0
Texture Fill Rate (Billion Texels/sec) 36.9
Memory Interface 448 bit
Memory Bandwidth (GB/sec) 111.9

Whats FPS do you get with
COD MW 2
GTA IV

looking at the Benchies it looks pretty good, im looking at Res of about 1680 x 1050 with AA at about x2 and high for all graphics ect.. which apparently the best for this card, however just need to know what are the best settings for high quality graphics with smooth gameplay, at the moment i have 800 x 600 with quality at medium so this would be a big step.

For GTA 4 your framerate will be heavily dependant on your CPU. What CPU are you using?

As for COD MW2 expect to be hitting 60+ FPS with that card no problems with full resolution and all the settings turned up to max.

Good chips them, like to see it at 2.8 to 3Ghz minimum though, but whatever the speed it will be a massive leap from you previous card.

lol im using a Pentium Duo Core 2,

I'm guessing you mean Pentium Dual Core (core 2 Duo architecture) which is a good chip, any idea what the specific chip is (you can easily check using CPU-Z)?

As for playing games with that CPU - modern warfare 2 and pretty much all modern games should play nicely. However, GTA4 and ARMA2 will be very difficult to play if not unplayable. For these games I believe you really want a Tri-core as a minimum (these particular games are badly ported/coded).

Hi Dave1983,

Have just installed this very card within the last hour or so. Can't believe how cool it runs, and its so very quiet. Obviously it's early days but I am very impressed thus far.
