Geforce GTX 780, 770 coming in May

Yeah they don't. It sits outside of the normal series of cards. What I meant was that ideally as a customer you'd have wanted the Titan released at the current rumoured 780 price point as the 780 itself and then the other cards filtering down from that.

Without knowing their R&D costs it's difficult to know whether this was ever a possibility though.

Maybe their R&D costs spent on the Titan helped to reduce the cost of the GTX 780 as the two cards are very similar in design.

I would but my 780 has already been shipped. This would create a massive ballache as I would need to pay £670-ish on top to get the waterblocked card and then send back the original 780 they sent to me and wait for them to refund me.

I have posted in the customer services section to see if I can at least get my postage refunded given that I had to place a second order for a waterblock/backplate.

If I remember right, I don't think they will ship it until this evening.

Kaap I checked and they are super quick these days. Order already shipped so time for me to learn how to crack open a card and apply a block/backplate.

It is very easy to fit a waterblock/backplate, I think you will find it interesting.

I was a little worried when I did the first one the other week but it was very straight forward.

This does make me grin and appreciate the fact i have a GTX690.
I think it's my favourite graphics card i've own now, topping my GeForce 256 DDR and Voodoo 4.

My GTX 690 rig is the first one I reach for even now and gets used 24/7

If you can go qsli and stick to 1600p the power is awesome. It is something AMD can not match, two HD 7990s just don't work.

How much power does QSLi pull?

Last time I measured with a very overclocked 3960x @4.9ghz and two GTX 690s oced in 3dmark11 I managed 1032 watts at the wall. If I had been running 3dmark vantage it would probably have been about another 40 or so watts higher.

Definitely would require a new PSU then.. Currently using a Corsair AX860 and have a spare OCZ ZX 1000 that whines.

@1080p or 1200p one GTX 690 is plenty if you use two at those resolutions you get bottlenecks. Two GTX 690s are almost the same power as 3 Titans.

In 3dmark11 I can score nearly 39000 for graphics on my GTX 690s, using 3 Titans on a faster CPU I can score 44500 for graphics.

Any rumor/word on when the 4gb versions of the Nvidia 770 will be out?

They were supposed to be released at the same time as the 2GB version. Not sure if they were and sold out or just wasn't.

They were all bought up by AMD vram zealots looking to upgrade.
