Asus GeForce N7600GS Silent HTD 256MB DDR2 HDTV/DVI (AGP) - Retail
OC Stock Code: GX-116-AS

I'm thinking of getting the above card. My wife plays The Sims 2 + all the expansion packs, I tend to play anything from GTA 3, Half-Life 2 ect.

Thanks.

your on agp only i guess. that card is not too bad but a 7600GT agp would be the better way to spend 65 quid.
Of course the 7600GT is better, but the 7600GS card the OP mentioned is cheaper then you think i guess. Its only £52.86 inc.

For that money i dont think there is a better AGP card, unless the OP could find a 7600GT, X800XT or X1650XT (all offer correspondingly more performance) 2nd hand.

guess so, but options are limited on agp and the x1950 cards are higher priced. be weary of silent cards though, they usually rely on good case cooling.

One thing to be aware of is that the 7600GS really isn't anything that special, it's a 12-pipe card with a 128bit memory interface and as such I'd say you talking 6800 performance at best.

I'd be tempted to look around for a secondhand 6800gt/gs/ultra or x800xl/xt/xt-pe or similar.

i got rid of a 6800le unlocked to 12 pipes for a 7600gs, reason was 7600gs was a bit quicker. so it did the trick., now i need more power though.
