There will be. Like any launch of new GPU's, always reference models and then custom models. I expect EVGA to jump on a classified style again and MSI to do a Lightning.

NVIDIA have recently chosen to keep their flagship cards (590, 690 for example) reference give or take different stickers. We can always hope for some Windforce's and Lightnings but I wouldn't hold my breath. It could happen though as they have unused extra pins and voltage regulation.

I could imagine a Lightning Titan being £1000 at this rate

I really can't see it happening - if Nvidia are rating the chips only really up to about 900, and with basic overclocking people are going to be hitting nearly 1200's I really can't see nvidia allowing anyone to make a card that does 1300 or more, as they've already stated that they think running at 1.2v will be shortening the lifespan of the card

I thought the K20 had the power connectors at the end so I suspect it's something they left on the board

I think if NVIDIA had thought it was even slightly viable to push it much higher then it would have been released with 2x 8pin instead of 6+8, which would have given it a bit more power headroom, and stock clocks or boost would have been a bit greater.

High demand low supply = price increase. Happens with everything.

Like what? :)

It happens generally with price gouging pc component retailers. As an example; I was trying to buy a Pioneer 6090 when they were like hens teeth and one of the few retailers who had one sold it to me for less than the RRP.

And what price were the other retailers selling it for?]

EDIT: im not talking about the titan, i was inquiring about the pioneer

Retailers make profit off the normal people who wander round the shop, sales "assistants" guide them towards Monster cables and such. You don't get that with specialist e-tailers who have a clientele of hardcores who know exactly what they want.

Just because places like PCworld/Currys try to con extras out of their customers (like charging a extra £30 to put a user account on windows 8 for them) does not mean it's cool for etailers/NVIDIA to start taking the mick out of our bank balances. One of the main reason a lot of us use places like OCuK is because we are trying to avoid the high street rip offs.

And what price were the other retailers selling it for?

Overclockers & the other place were both selling them for £839.

Overclockers & the other place both increased their price to £859 this morning.

The other place started listing factory overclocked EVGA cards from £899 this afternoon.

Overclockers increased the price of their standard cards to £899.
