Hi there.
I am after a cheap build that can play some older games at lower resolutions - i.e. nothing that requires a dedicated graphics card. In particular, BeamnG.
I already have a case and PSU (350w Super Flower) and am thinking of going with a Ryzen 5 5600G.
I have not built a PC in quite a while and would be grateful for some general advice:
1. What RAM specs should I be using with the Ryzen 5? I have heard that it can be a bit picky, given that the APU shares the RAM.
2. Will 16GB RAM be enough for the time being? Will the system take much of a hit if I buy a single 16GB stick, with a view to possibly upgrading or should I go with 2x8GB instead?
3. Are there any budget motherboards that I should be looking at, in particular?
4. I am going to need at least 1TB of storage for the time being. Should I go SSD or NVME?
