Genres of music or film you tend to avoid?

(If any)

For me it would be:-

Film: Horror, Romance

Music: Trance, Rap, Opera, Jazz, Country (obviously there are millions of music sub-genres but I think those are the main ones I tend to avoid)

If you like these genres, I'm not saying they're bad, I just don't enjoy them.

I do like a fair share of things from each of those categories, for example classic horrors like The Shining or Alien, but on the whole I don't like that genre.

I'm struggling to name a pure romance film that I like, though obviously almost everything has a love story of some sort.

I don't think there's anything intrinsically wrong with those genres, I just don't happen to like the majority of the material that is produced in them.

I'll try and give anything a go at least once, but I'm the most opinionated person I know so if I don't like something, everyone within a fairly wide radius is gonna know about it :)

Film - Action. (I've had the Bourne boxset for over 12 months but haven't watched one)

Music - Grime, Death Metal, RnB and Drum and Bass.

Music - RnB, hip hop, DnB, club stuff really, and generic indie stuff (arctic monkeys etc)

Films - I'll watch most, but not a fan of war films or drama things

Film - I don't usually avoid genres.
Music - Hip hop (newer stuff), RnB, and most things that get played at generica oceana type clubs. If anybody knows of V or Lava in Bournemouth, basically that.

Music -
Jazz, old blues, 70s Disco, all this house, trance stuff

Film -
Horror although there have been some cracking films eg those with Pinhead in

I watch everything and listen to any genre.

Films: Soppy rom coms aren't my thing, but I'll watch most other stuff.

Music: I love music, almost every bit of it from John Coltrane and Beethoven to The Dillinger Escape Plan. But I dislike cheesy generic club trance, and can't stand the "glass shattering" style of vibrato in Opera, so don't listen to it.

What genre of music is this? I hate it! 8 mins long and its the same all the way through .

Goldie is normally known for jungle or drum and bass but that sounds a bit more like ambient electronic to me.

I try not to avoid any specific genre of film or music unless you count reality TV output as a genre of music, I figure that by discounting something without listening to it I'm running the risk of missing out - however that's a risk I'm willing to accept to avoid the dross that is most reality TV music.
