Genuinly speechless right now - neighbour just told me something ...

Sorry about your loss, but I'm afraid I'm "genuinely shocked, seriously wtf" at the fact you paid so little attention to your cat that you didn't even know it had been dead for a year. The poor cat deserved better from you, to be frank.

You've only just found out about this, a year later, as none of you cared.
Now you are angry at yourself for not caring, and seek to transfer your blame and shame to your neighbour who took ultimate responsibility for the animal and had it safely and painlessly disposed of.

I haven't really got much to say but I had to post in such a strange thread.

What next. The cat suddenly turns up and it turns out all to be big joke. The twist is the cat turns out actually to be dog as Belloni never realised as he never paid any attention to it. :p

She used to have a cat, then that died and started feeding ours more. It's not uncommon for outdoor cats to move in with someone else.

nah, the twist is, the cat Belloni thought they were seeing and eating the food over the past year, was in fact his dad in a catsuit as they didn't have the heart to tell him it was dead. after a year had passed, they felt the time was right.
