German court rules circumcision is 'bodily harm'

I was going to post this story a couple of days ago, but after the last time I posted something related to Judaism and the accusations of Antisemitism I recieved I decided against it.

My thoughts are It should be down to the individual and it should be left until a child is able to make their own informed decision. This should include any form of procedure such as circumcision, piercings, tattoos and so on that have no medical basis.

The justifications for this in the religions that advocate it are rooted in their ancient Cultural and Geographical past and no longer apply to the modern world, for this reason, while I understand how important some religious symbolism and rituals are, surely this is one that can be either phased out or readdressed insofar that the basic rights of the individual over their body are maintained.

However, it should be pointed out also that this decision was made by a very low level German local court and almost certainly will be overturned on appeal....the Doctor has already been acquited and the German Consulate in the UK has made noises that the Courts decision is not the position of the German Authorities.

Regardless of my personal thoughts, we have to be careful of the point that this is a German Court interfering in the Cultural and Religious practices of Judaism (and Islam)...they need to be aware of what that implies to many people, especially Jews.

Absolutely loving the complete non-argument of the cut guys on here.

Please, tell me more about how I constantly have knob cheese.

So you edited your post, great troll face.

Wow, I guess you really are genuinely just not too bright. :D

No worries, further replies are pointless I guess, so you carry on and do your thing. ;)

To the other guys posting, it will just go around in circles all night, don't waste the valuable finger energy.

A trend I've noticed of most members here is that they actually think everyone on this forum is a retard

Can you blame people when you have people posting nonsense about how having a foreskin apparently means it is gross to touch your own penis and you smell of smegma?

There have, just that you dont want to see.

It's not that it's just they're lame reasons.

Hygiene is just a 21st century pretext for performing an old barbaric religous practice, it takes about 1sec to pull the foreskin back and the same amount of time to clean it as a circumcised person... or do circumcised people just not bother cleaning is that it?

So you believe they actually think that?

Craterloads - why's it justifiable to mutilate a child, without their consent? Even with their consent (before they can consent in the eyes of the law). Why not wait until they are 16/18?

Don't just say it's not worse than piercings, as I'm against them as well :). Don't just say because otherwise the penis will become a stinky mess, as we've already pointed out that's entirely false (and you don't seem to be able to grasp the anatomy of the penis, anyway). Just stick the to the question at the top of this post :).

Ok. I dont class it as mutilation as most wouldnt class piercings as mutilation.

I think it would be worse off getting it done as an adult, rather have it done as a child when you cant remember it. Its a much smaller piece of skin to remove as a child then as an adult.

It's easier to bash the bishop with a foreskin, this stops the argument in its tracks.

This is coming from the guy who was comparing castration to circumsition :o

Piercings shouldn't be done to babies though and have the image of ***** imo. Also you can have a piercing, not use it and they will close up as if you never had a piercing, this isn't true of circumcision. Once that foreskin is cut, it ain't coming back. Do you think female circumcision should be allowed if your roots are of an African background and it's tradition?

He wrote that by mistake, it doesn't change the facts in his post. The fact that's all you keep talking about proves you chose to ignore the rest of his post which was very interesting and proves without any doubt that you are completely wrong.

Female genital mutilation

Do you think that's okay too?
