Yes I know what a big responsibility it is to have a dog. My parents say no chance but if I just go out an get one anyway it tends to work for anything else.

My uncle lives alone nextdoor to us and is retired so there would always be someone there as well. Thinking of getting a puppy labrador or alsation. Im at work in the day but can come home at dinner to feed it etc, what you guys think?

I think its a bad idea and would be disrespectful.

If you want a dog get your own place.

Either that or speak to your uncle and ask him if he wants one. If he does, you walk it for him. It'd be like having one yourself anyway.

I think if your parents have said no then you should respect their wishes in the matter, other than that move out to your own place and then get a dog.

So it's not your house ?

I say RSPCA will have a new tenant when your parents gets back !

Its not like you are getting a mountain bike, the dog will make noises, crap and pee all over place, and cost money for its upkeep.

Living in the parental home past the age of 16 is a privilage, not a right. Do not abuse your parents trust - move out, or don't have a dog.

Possibly the worst idea ive heard in a long time. I would love a dog, but its simply not a good idea. I don't agree with leaving dogs alone at home while your at work all day. Are you going to walk it everyday, or leave that to your parents?

okays bad idea. Im 23 yeh I'm still living at home. Parents and uncle on holiday for a week but usually my uncle would be there and yes I'd walk it everyday. One of the reasons get one, to get me walking.

Another idea is to pretend to move out and rent a place for a few weeks, get a dog and then move back home with the dog.

Why are you acting like you're a child?

Get your own place, get a dog.

Don't get your own place, don't get a dog.

You're a genius. Why not, move out and get a dog? Why are you trying to force a dog into your parents' house? They don't want one.

My job is up in the air at the moment so moving out isn't really an option until next year.
If you get a dog against your parents' wishes, it could be an option a lot sooner than you think ;)

Are you for real? You would pretend to move out just to get a dog? Why don't you just actually move out? so your willing to deceive and lie to your parents just so you can get a pet, that by the sounds of it your not mature enough to look after?
