I'm off on holiday in two weeks and need to update my passport, so I'm paying for the 1 week service and have an appointment at the London passport office tomorrow. Anybody know what I need to take with me? I've searched the website and can't find a thing that will tell me any extra stuff I need. So far I have a completed application form, £80 in cash, my old passport, 2 passport photos and a credit card bill and bank statement as proof of adress/identity. Anybody know anything else they require?

I did this a few years back.

Be prepared to wait along time as in 6+ hours or more.... (maybe i got unlucky?)

I think they will only give you a 1 years passport at that short of notice.

just take all the ID you have in the world including multiple proofs of address etc etc.

Have fun, pray its not busy even with an appointment.

Just called them up, apparently I have everything I need :D My appointment is 9:45am so I'm hoping thats not enough time for a backlog to build up. Thankfully I have nothing else to do tomorrow so should get it all done :)

Thanks for your suggestions guys :)

I did mine last year and it took a fairly long time, they will give you a full 10 years.
I took mine in and they gave me a rough time to pick it up so I went home and came back, luckily i lived in London at the time.

did mine last year, the old man was in austria and got taken into hospital,

IIRC, the form, any and all passports that haven't already been cancelled (i had hassle because i didn't have my latest expired passport) and make sure the picture is good, hassles there too because I wasn't far enough away from the camera, (it's a photo booth, i'm 6'6, of course i can make it look like i'm further back than the rear wall  )

Was in at 8am (newport) and out by 12 though

Well got there at 9:10am, was let in at 9:20, and was out by 9:30. Was quite surprised at how quick it all was :)
