Getting scuffs out

Well it finally happened, some ignorant ******* opened their door into the side of the car :(

It appears that I've escaped an actual dent and am left with only scuff marks. These look fairly superficial so I'm hoping they'll t-cut out. I've only got the car for another couple of months but I'd prefer to get it sorted nonetheless plus if I can tidy it up before it goes back there's less chance of the lease company charging an arm and a leg for the work.

Only problem is I've no idea how to go about this as I've never tried it before. Would some kind soul care to recommend some products to use and what exactly I do with them. Sorry to be a n00b but I don't want to make basic mistakes here and make the problem worse.

If it matters (probably does) the paintwork is black "pearl" effect (basically metallic in other words).

Any advice appreciated.

I had real trouble polishing scuffs out of my Audi's "Minge blue" pearl paint. It kind of works, but you can tell it was there. Maybe I just suck.

Try scratch X, just a matter of rubbing it into the paint, like any polish tbh.

If scratch x doesnt work (as its not much harsher than t-cut) try a rubbing compound, and should get it out aslong as the paint isnt broken.

As its metallic dont go too mad with any kind of cutting compund as you don't wanna eat through the clearcoat, maybe some t-cut metallic or scratch x would do the job.

How deep is it?

If it isn't that deep just try polishing it out first with some good old elbow grease and see how far you get
