Getting train tickets from SouthWest to Scotland

Hey is there any better websites about for this than the trainline?

I am trying to get from Barnstaple to Glasgow sometime over this weekend but it doesn't allow me to say show the cheapest fare over this couple of days?

All I can find is really expensive tickets.

Have you tried single tickets?

Barnstaple -> Exeter is usually somewhere in the region of £7-£10, then Exeter -> Glasgow is one train the whole way.

What day are you leaving Barnstaple?

You are unlikely to get a properly cheap ticket now as you've left it too late to get a good advance price.

Try http://www.firstgreatwestern.co.uk - they are offering 10% off advance purchase tickets and unlike thetrainline do not charge a booking fee.

Truth, I had to book mine 2 months in advance to get a good price :eek:

Whatever you do, DO NOT use thetrainline.com - they often sell tickets at a higher cost than the train companies as I have found out when travelling back and forth from dundee.
