The GF's got her Dad's Birthday coming up this weeked, as expected, we've left it to the last minute to get him anything...
In classic Dad style, he doesn't want us to get him anything. (Surely this is just a 'Dad lie' though, everyone loves gifts)

Trying to think of ideas but am not getting very far... He does like pointless gimmicky gadgets though, who doesn't?
Anyone got any "I'd buy this" or "I bought one of these and it went down well" style ideas?
We're pretty poor at the moment due to numerous expenses so probably would be wanting to spend £40-£50.

Any help appreciated. :)

We got my girlfriends dad a few bottles of nice wine and a wine cooling kit thingy thing and that went down pretty well, so there is my suggestion, good luck!

Buy him a good quality shirt, it's a gift that most men will appreciate. I recommend Harvie & Hudson, they do most of their shirts for £45 which is an absolute bargain given that they are one of the best quality "off the shelf" shirtmakers in Jermyn Street.

Sorry for the off topic post, but thanks a lot for that, they look brilliant and really good value, think I'll be getting myself 3 for x-mas :D

What budget you looking at?

Sat Nav is always a good gift :D

OP stated £40-£50, so I doubt it. :)

As for the photo...why are the forums full of idiots these days?

For the actual question, I'm not sure. It depends on what he likes really as to what you should get. No point getting alcohol if he doesn't like it (for example).
Personally I don't get anything for my dad, and don't for my girlfriend's family either. :)

A "congratulations on becoming a granddad" card perhaps?
Failing that, if he's into golf, an automatic putting hole thingy, you know, the ones which push your golf ball back to you once you get it in. Or you could go for anything from the Jack Daniels range of tat that they sell.
