GF's Hero keeps making 'notification' noise but without actually displaying anything

Ok, so there's a new Hero in the household and it seems to have a strange problem. For some reason, randomly, it makes the 'notification' noise (that you specify in settings->sounds,notifications etc.) as if it's got an SMS. However, looking at the phone, there doesn't seem to be any obvious event that's occurred. An SMS hasn't arrived, and there's nothing in the notifications drop-down.

I had a play through, though not being terribly familiar with it (I'm a BB user) I couldn't really figure it out. All I know is that it's *not* a new email (I set that to be a different sound).

So, any ideas? Why's it making noises for no apparent reason?

Twitter updates? Any other apps she's download that give notifications that don't appear in the notification bar?

See f you can set a different notification in every app that uses them and see what's doing it?

I suspect it's facebook. Don't know how to edit the notifications in that. Apparently it's "not twitter". It did just go off again, and there's no new twitter posts.

Try going into Menu > Settings > Social networks > Menu > Account settings and fiddle around with the notification options.

I'm not sure if any of those will be the root of your problems, but it's the first place I'd be looking.
