I am considering getting a new graphics card and I am looking to the Nvidia Geforce 8800 GTX. Do you think this is a good idea or **** i wait for the 9800 to come out?

yeah, well i think its just a revision card, the circuitry is the same just the software is a bit faster ( as i believe) either that or a new standard cooler is coming out, cos some of the earlier gtx's were a bit more noisy

Should be on a 65nm process like the new GT, and refreshed GTS, will have Dx10.1 etc... (not that thats worth having), but its pointless buying an old GTX now when the new ones coming.

will dx10.1 cards cause problems with crysis, because 10.1 has mandatory 4x AA, and crysis has problems with AA (ie, it doesnt work, and some people even say it causes a white/black screen with only a hud if AA is turned on).

Crytek turned AA off in the beta, as well as many other features (etc.) IIRC.

Wait til Friday to see the 'finished' product.

I was told that the beta disabled AA because it simply didnt work properly with crysis, and that people who managed to force AA on had graphical problems. But crysis has its own stuff for smoothing edges so AA isnt needed. At least thats what i was told anyway, meaning the full version wont have AA either, itll just use its own things to smooth edges.
