Giant Model Railway

I thought my grandad had the biggest set with 32 trains!!!

This is amazing!! I must print these pages off and show him on Sunday!

shame they used those rubbish plastic trees , modelers now use a natural product called ' seafoam ' which is a dried arctic plant that is a perfect miniature tree when treated in a certain way

There's one in Shrewsbury that I've visited once (Not public though) thats even bigger scale-wise; This is 40ftx 40ft in 2mm to THE FOOT!!
Around 3,000 engines (They've lost count :p ) more stock than you can shake a stick at etc. etc. but no scenery though. Railways of this size are more than impresive to operate, its addictive!!

Thats awesome, always wanted something like that as a kid, instead had an oval track that got boring real quick :p

I want that.
I'd need a new house for it, but it would just provide months and months of fun.

The stats at the bottom say it occupies 5 rooms, and is planned to upgrade to 9 by 2008. It's got 550 trains.
550!

do you know how much of it can be controlled?
is it just the trains or is it also the cars, lights, people?
