Gibbo - 2900XT in stock now?

When was the last time a major card was released that didnt have a week or 2 lead in on pre-orders? Th efact that the shop doesnt even mention them i think speaks for itself. Highly doubt they will be available on Monday, likely just be able to pre-order and they will ship in a week or 2.

You don't know what an NDA is then. :p

£220 + vat isn't a bad price from a £ / performance stand point.

That would be a fair price point if you think the current price of grahpics cards in general is "fair"

Not really as its got more memory, its competing with the 640mb GTS not the 320mb one, so if its inbetween the 320mb and 640mb on pricing it will be about right as its got more memory than the 320mb, and less than the 640mb, if they price it higher than the 640mb though, then all i can say is oh dear. :p

What a silly thing to say... are you saying the extra 192MB memory is worth an extra £100 despite all reports so far showing it similar if not worse in performance that the 8800GTS that is £100 cheaper?

The performance between the 320MB and 640MB is almost the same... so your point is moot. It's readily apparent that next to a £165 8800GTS the X2900 is terrible value at £265... it doesn't matter whether it's "officially competing" with the 640MB or not, we as enthusiasts and gamers are (or should be) informed enough to know better than that. Price/performance ratio doesn' look good. :(

I been out the loop - do we actually know the performance and price now? Or we not gonna know for sure until Mon when the NDA is lifted?

Hi there

Its also HDMI as well with supplied dongle.

They are the only cards that support true HDCP, I don't think any of the cards out now do as none of them can transport sound over the HDMI link.

People will argue that it's not needed now, and they are right to an extent, but as a person who never sells on hardware (prefer to retire them to another system) when the time comes when I want to build a HTPC, I won't need to go buy another gfx card.
