If I had no intention to overclock then I would buy one of these two:-
Sapphire X1800 XT 256MB PCI-Express @ £185 +VAT (This Week Only)
PowerColor X1800 XT 512MB PCI-Express @ £215 +VAT (This Week Only)
You won't find anywhere else in the UK that can come even close to those prices. The 512MB is faster when at resolutions 1280x1024 and higher.
If you don't mind overclocking then buy yourself a BFG 7900 GT and overclock it close to GTX speeds.
At stocks speeds my vote goes for the X1800's as they are generally quicker with AA/AF and boast superior image quality. However clocking the 7900 GT does allow it too pull away quite a bit in some games.

Though at 1280 resolution I'd think I would sacrifice a bit of speed for image quality and go for an X1800 XT 256MB. Connect3D is in stock and Sapphire arrive tomorrow.
