Gibbo: PowerColor ATI Radeon X1950 Pro with AGP?

Evening chap

Do you know if OcUK are planning on getting these cards in shortly?

Cheers mate :)

Hi there

We have the Sapphire one and HIS arriving next week, don't think we really need any more now. :)

Edit: Just seen it has the Arctic Cooler so yeah I will get it in. Only problem is because we took so many Sapphire and HIS means that Powercolor may not be able to produce us any with us putting all the chips from ATI in the direction of Sapphrie and HIS.

Thats what makes it interesting mate. I read a review on Firingsquad

http://www.firingsquad.com/hardware/powercolor_radeon_x1950_pro_agp_review/

That gives it their 'Bullseye' award. They really rated it.
I've ordered the Sapphire one because sadly I cannot wait, I need it for next weekend :)

Hi m8

Well I knew the X1950 Pro AGP was fast, but never realised it was that quick. It completely destroys the 7800 GS and old 6800 Ultra. No wonder were shifting so many. :D

I shall get the Powercolor version in and will look for ETA tomorrow. :)

Now im confused. You now think powercolour is better than the HiS? Or do you think the HiS is the better card?

Hi there

The HIS is the card I would go for as its quicker and I like the ICEQ3 coolers as they cool very well but the big bonus is they exhaust the hot air out of your case. :)

it never was dead. its just a lot of us got conned into going over to pci-e ( me included ) .

wish i'd notbothered now and just hung onto my x800 and upgraded to this new one . would have saved at least £400

you're not supposed to say that. you're supposed to pity us fools who are starved of bandwidth with our crappy agp 8x interfaces. :D

So I wonder whether we can expect to see some DX10 action on AGP then.

These new cards are pretty well priced compared to the PCIE equivalents.
Worth the extra to avoid another rebuild.

There's even 939 x2s coming back onto the market! Personally, I'd rather just drop one of those and a shiny new AGP card into my rig than have to do a complete rebuild.
