I'm thinking about buying an iPod 30GB video and Bose speaker thing for it. But I go to Spain in a few weeks time and we'll no doubt make the obligatory trip to Gib one day.

Does anyone know if things like iPods will be significantly cheaper there and if so will I get them back through customs? What about warranties etc?

Any information appreciated!

Some stuff is cheaper in Gib but I doubt Ipods will be.
When I was in Gib there was no duty on smokes or drink but nothing was particularly cheap other than that.
If you pop over to Gib post some pictures, I have fond memories of living there (Buena Vista barracks on the cliff above Camp Bay), windsurfing out from Western beach (RAF beach along the runway).
The high street is hot and small, not really much to do there - much like any other high street. I guess you'll do the obligatory cable car to the top of the rock, annoy a few barbary apes etc.

Thanks VIRII I've been to Gib a few times and done the tourist bit, got the cheap fags and drink, just wondered if the electrical goods were cheap. One of the guys we go with (golfing holiday) is ex WO on subs and always gives us the history tour :) which personally I always find interesting - especially the ramparts on the way in with the various dates and things right up to "that's where the IRA folk were shot".

If you can wangle a tour of St Michaels cave then that is pretty impressive, not sure if the general public can get in there.
From Camp Bay you can scale the rockface and could enter the tunnel sytems in the rock. From memory there are 21 miles of tunnel inside the rock. Many of them lit and wide enough to drive a Bedford Truck down. There is also a "village" inside the rock with pop up targets for training purposes. Cool place I loved it.
