other that the PCI express slots does the gaming 9 have any other advantage over the gaming 8

i won't be using SLI
i do want as many sata slots as i can get
a small OC would be nice
need it as silent as possible so i will be water cooling

have looked at that and from what i see the biggest different is in the types of pci slots they have, if i don't plan to use SLI do i need the gaming 9 better pci slots (as that the only reason at the moment that i can think of why you need the faster pci slots)

Nope if you dont need SLI then the extra PCI lanes provided by the PLX chip arent needed.

Its a shame nor x8 PCIe dual m.2 boards exist.
Would be perfect in this board to double up all those PCIe lanes !

Get the 7 and uses a mono EK block !
