Gigabyte DS3 rev3.3 with E8200 / E8400 /E8500 Wolfdale chips ?

Is it true if you run the E8xxx chips on the older p965 boards that the temp readings are way out ?

I think the temperature reading issue was a problem with the heat sensors on the CPU rather than the board.

I ran an E8400 on my 680i board and i was getting a good 20 degree difference in temp readings.
 
a lot of the threads say that the e8xxx chips on a p965 are about 10 degree out but they are old threads with Beta Bios when the wolfdales first came out.

Did you try your E8400 on any other boards and was it still 20 out ?

No the 680i was the only board i had available at the time. The chap i had it from on MM previously had it in an intel board and said it did the same thing.
