Gigabyte GA EX58-UD5 Northbridge Cooling Options

Im running a Coolermaster Cosmos S. 3 exhaust fans in the top, one exhaust out the bank, one front intake, one bottom intake. Have had to take the side fan off as the noctua cpu cooler doesnt fit with it on.. Noctua is orientated to exhaust out of the back of the case.

Noticed last night that the mboard NB temp lights went into the red after a few hours gaming. Loading with Prime95 doesnt see the NB increase to the red (so 80c + i guess) so im thinking its due to the heat generated by my powercolor 4890 pcs+. I have this placed in the lower pci-e slot so the right side of the card is over the southbridge.

Im thinking perhaps its better to move the card to the top slot, but then this is closer to the cpu.

Would it be worth moving the card and changing the noctua orientation to exhaust out the top of the case, thus drawing in air over the NB heatsinks ?

Or do you think the best thing to do is get the side fan on and working somehow ? Either by mounting it on the outside of the side panel or by cutting the fan shroud so it fits (not sure it will fit even hacked about though)

Before anyone says it, i know this is a watercooling case really, that was my initial plan. However, i've been forced into an early upgrade as my last pc died, and i dont really have the cash for a full w/c setup just yet. Trying to make do for a month or two on air before i go w/c cpu / chipset / vga cooling.
