which is better?

they both have pci-e 3.0 and ivy bridge compatibility, and are similarly priced. the asrock has tri-crossfire but i'll never use it (probably wont even use two graphics cards tbh). i don't care about the UEFI bios as i'll not be spending a lot of time in it.

both motherboards have all the features i want/need so which would you guys recommend? i can't even decide just based on looks as they both look so awesome.

i almost wish one of them was rubbish so the decision was easy

If the decision was based on build quality and the physical weight, then the Gigabyte wins hands down.

cheers stulid, i saw your UD4 review and it was that which caused my indecision :O (i was decided on the asrock before).

think i'll go with gigabyte. i guess they're both great boards so it doesn't make much difference

Mmmmm, having just gone over to my first AS rock board (extreme 4 gen 3) I am not sure on that. I have been a Gigabyte user for my last 3 builds and to be honest i am actually really impressed with ASrocks offering. Not too much in it really apart from about an Oz of copper ;)

hmm, that's some pretty impressive results from the asrock.

the last motherboard i bought was an abit lol, so i'm a little out of the loop about which brands current crop of boards are the best. i've been hearing a lot people are very impressed with the asrock so i think i may go with that. it has UEFI too which is a bonus
