Cause the multiplier is set at 6 instead of 11. If it was at 11 it would be the default clock speed of 2933 MHz.
multiplier is set at 11 in bios dont understand why it shows at 6?

From what ive been reading its pretty good, not had a chance to do some overclocking yet.

Why would you want to overclock a almost £800 state of the art chip? O_o

Thats speedstep, run something intensive and it should bang back up to full speed.

CR.

Yep and im surprised no one before realised :p

Can I ask, do these DS3 and DS4 boards support the E6600 2.4Ghz Conroe out of the box without a BIOS update?

I was looking at the DS3 too. I take it the difference is that the DS3 has one PCI-Express socket and the DS4 has two for SLI?

If so, the DS3 would be ideal for me as I only want one Nvida card in it.

How do they rate against the promised cheaper Nforce5 boards whenever they arrive? Is the DS3 any good?

These boards are designed to work with Conroe, so yes they will work straight out of the box and no bios update is necassary.

Great! Thanks for that!

I have just got that damn Gigabyte link to load (at last!) and I see its a 965 chipset which is supposedly the new one we are waiting for?

The guys in this thread seem very impressed with the DS3. Apparently it goes up to 485Mhz on the FSB which they are well chuffed with. He says he is using an Allendale, don't what that is but they seem impressed with the board in any case. I don't imagine I'll need a 485Mhz FSB as I only want to overclock on air and am hoping to see how people overclock their E6600's on air when they become available so I can use the same settings.

I've always spent around £110-£130 on an Asus board (A8V etc) so I think I'll go for this!

Handy comparison:

The only problem with the DQ6 for me is it has only 2 pci slots?

I cant understand why all these boards are now losing pci slots and ide channels. It also only has 4 usb ports compared to the DS3 8.

I wonder what RAM would be best for this DS3 board and an E6600 Conroe?

G.Skill 2GB DDR2 NR PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS5 Dual Channel Kit or G.Skill 2GB DDR2 HZ PC2-6400 (2x1GB) CAS4 Dual Channel Kit?

Apparently you cannot set mem lower than 1:1 if thats an issue for this RAM?
