Gigabyte GA_P35_DS3P with new cooling (rev 2.0)

I can understand this policy if they had a stack of revision 1 or 1.1 boards they couldn't shift, because everyone wanted the rev 2, but they are out of stock...surely they are all the new rev? So whats the big deal in getting one of the OCUk gophers to go check??

My local supplier had 37 boards delivered only last week and they were still a 1.x revision, hopefully the newer revisions will soon be in the shops as the std type.

Not necessarily - OcUK buy from all over, and the stuff they have isn't necessarily the newest. To cover themselves, they just refuse to state what revision the item in question is. This isn't unusual in the discount computer trade. And you can see why if you consider how many requests they must get for this every day - probably hundreds if not thousands.

Again, OcUK are basically boxshifters. They buy a box and they sell the box on to you. If it doesn't work, they take it back and give you another one or refund your money. This is how discount computer operations work. If you want specific items, then you have to pay for the service that that requires, and there are plenty of relatively expensive local computer stores that will order you a part at pretty much full price. The only time I've ever known OcUK guarantee a specific part was when they charged extra for G0 Q6600's.

You need to contact the shop directly - although some of the staff come on here, these boards are not directly connected with the store.

I know. That's why I asked as some of the workers do frequent the board. I have already sent the store 2 questions today regarding this and so far, despite the claimed response time, eagerly await a reply.

Always find it weird though, that people say the boards aren't connected to the shop, but then say you cannot mention any competition.

Competition is a good thing. Keeps vendors on their toes if they can see other etailers selling things a lot cheaper. As is quite often the case! Why can't we all just, get along? ;) Rules is rules, as they say.

Anyway, I digress.

Back to the topic in hand.

The store pays for the forums, so they don't want competitors getting any benefit out of that expenditure. But the reverse is that the store gets free support from the userbase and very cheap advertising.

just filled in another webnote asking about stock of Rev 2 boards, also asked if Gibbo could give this thread a look and give us a rough idea as to how long before overclockers should hopefully get stock in.

well got a reply ,and its "Unfortunately we would not be able to supply that information as the version we currently have it maybe different from the one you receive if you placed an order"
so still none the wiser as to if the stock overclockers have are rev 1 or rev2 boards,or a mixture of both :(
