Gigabyte gtx 670 or asus TOP edition 670?

I was reading through that thread yesterday and earlier today. I guess I am one of the fortunate ones as my TOP runs with factory-clocked GPU core boosted to 1306mhz with no issues.

Nice core speed. Yeah I was surprised when I read the read the thread to be honest. It seems like a really good quality product built with great components so I'd have thought there wouldn't have been any issues. It really put me off the asus card just in case I have issues with it and I don't wanna have to return another card again.

I completely agree. The asus is definitely a looker but I'd choose performance over looks every time. I plan to get a corsair 500r soon anyway which has no window so it doesn't really matter. Besides the blue pcb will still go with most motherboards I'm considering to buy.

I think if I could buy a backplate off of Gigabyte for it, I'd be quite happy.

My guess is there's a bad batch of those cards. It comes down to pure luck when you order one.

It doesn't look too bad actually. Guess it depends on the lighting in your room and case. I hope there will be a backplate available as well which will fit without having to mod it in any way. Have you got a 670 or do you plan to get one?

Planning on buying one. Just sitting back and seeing how things go with the current line up.

Which model you gonna get? I'm hoping prices will drop a bit by the time I get refunded. Prices seem to have gone up for the gigabyte model lately. It was on offer a week ago on a different site for an insanely cheap price but now its up by £30. I look at the kfa2 ex oc on overclockers but it's not as good as the gigabyte or asus from what I gather.

It looks more and more like I'll end up going for the Windforce. It might not look great but it's great in every other aspect. If I could just get a backplate for it to cover that horrible pcb.
I'll give it a bit longer and see how the Asus TOP is in the next 3-4 weeks.

The EVGA gtx680 backplate fits, you simply need to drill out 1 hole.

Yeah. Fortunate as I have been, if I had read the thread about the TOP issues prior to my purchase of one I would definitely have gone for the Windforce instead.
