Gigabyte GTX 780 performance revealed.

If those figures are true, the 780 is looking a nice card. I have not read up on the UK prices, so price dependant, this could be a tempting card for anyone wanting to buy a new GPU.

Whats going on with there vantage results. our own thread here shows the 7970 to have the advantage over the gtx680. I take it the nvidia cards were using physx?

Reviewers results not matching reality is nothing new.

But there is something very off about their results, by the looks of it what they are trying to say is the GTX 780 is closer to the GTX Titan than the GTX 670 is to the GTX 680, like there is nothing in it, just a couple of percent, almost identical performance....... Nvidia- "the GTX 780 will be priced to its performance"

It stinks.

They weren't when he posted this though ;)

Linked but not embedded no, but no real need for a breakaway thread on the same point. Mind u, that thread does seem to generate about two new pages per hour, mostly people just price guessing  I keep popping in hoping to see Gibbo's ;)

I have a feeling that this card is going to cost £650+.

well i seriously hope not, i really want a new gpu to upgrade from my gtx 480's sli, but at that price i would be better off getting 2 x 7950's.

It's only going to cost £650+ plus if Nvidia still can't produce the gk110 in decent quantities.

Otherwise it's going to cost exactly the same as all of the other top end single gpu parts nvidia have done over the years (£500-550).

The performance looks about right, the GTX 780 is one SMX down on a Titan (around 7%) but runs at a higher clock. If everything else is the same it will mean the GTX 780 will have less overclocking headroom.

I make that £567 with VAT.

This price looks more feasible than the other price being touted. I wouldn't pay to much attention until official prices are set.

Fair point :)

I make that £570, it is better.

20-25% quicker than top tier (Titan excluding) cards and roughly 30-35% more expensive, sounds about right.

That's not offensively priced and priced somewhat decent if you were to compare to the Titan lol, decent upgrade for someone coming from a 680 etc. All guesswork till tomorrow though.
