Self-reply.
It seems that having two screens connected to my GPU both via DP perhaps exacerbated this issue. Connecing my second screen (DELL U2515H 2K/1440p) via HDMI seems to have resolved the issue without the need for clocking the screen down to 120Hz or modifying the colour space.

I had the same problem, an XG27UQR (4k 144hz) connected in DP 1.4 with DSC, and by putting my second screen the M28u, I have no more black screen (that I had by opening Netflix for example or spotify)

F10 firmware is out, running it now but no idea what has changed.

Not sure if it's just blacebo effect but F10 seems to handle HDR better or windows 11 HDR has got better ?

I know this is not a true HDR monitor but it looks like it has a little more punch to the colours.

Thought I just screwed my monitor trying to update.

Updated the OSD first because I saw there was a new version.

Then realized you don't update though the OSD program anymore.

The firmware downloaded now has its own updater.

Left the update running for a few hours to be honest came back to a blank screen and just the power led. Could get nothing from it.

Powered the monitor off reluctantly I had no idea what was happening.

Luckily came back to life and the updater program said failed.

Looks like the monitor has rolled all the way back to update F02 ????

Don't dares update it again not sure what's happened.

I believe it rolls back to F02 in the event the firmware update fails, the M28U is still updated within the software program via usb and it has never failed for me.
