Gigabyte NX76T 7600GT Silentpipe-II - anyone got one?

Anyone got one of the above cards and can tell me how good (or bad) it is? I've seen the review on Tom's Hardware which says it outperforms some of the actively cooled cards on temperatures. Can anyone tell me how hot they really run?

I've got a 6600GT original silentpipe model and it overheats easily. I can generally keep it under control but it causes problems from time to time. I'm looking to upgrade at some point, and I'm not bothered about maxing out settings. I'd rather have silence than 1600x1200 with max AA/AF.

Basically I just want to know if it will run significantly cooler than mine. Tom's Hardware seem to think it will. Also, if anyone can tell me how much better a 7600GT is than a 6600GT, that'd be much appreciated.

The 7600 is a very cool GPU so it should be more reliable and cooler than the fanless 6600GT

The 7600GT is a fair bit quicker than the 6600GT, it's a little faster than the 6800Ultra

Thanks - that sounds promising indeed. :)

In a review it ran slightly cooler than normal cooling at idle and load, up to 12c cooler ina case with good airflow (gigabyte aurora) but only 2c cooler in a standard gaming style case.

I think its a great card, faster than my old 800xl, apparently about the same-ish as an x1800gto and dead quiet.

actually the X1800 GTO is quite abit faster...

"When I ran 3DMark05 with this setup, I reached 8838 3DMarks, with my Athlon 64 3500+ running stock (2.2GHz). I am confident that with the CPU overclocked close to 3GHz, the card watercooled, it should be no problem to reach around 9000-9500 in 3DMark05, possibly more - simply amazing for a 12 pipeline card!"

if the coolers anything like the X1800XT range then its fairly quiet but not silent...
