Ok, just finished my i5-2500K build, I'm using the Gigabyte P67A-UD4 board and 4GB of XMS3 1600MHz along with an Akasa Venom CPU cooler. Anyway, I have just run the Gigabyte 'QuickBoost' overclock software to OC the processor to 4GHz but CoreTemp and CPUID/CPUZ are just showing the standard CPU speed with no change to 4GHz.

Has my CPU actually been OC'ed or is the Gigabyte software useless and I need to do it manually in the BIOS?

I was using a program called 'SMART QuickBoost' under the Smart6 bundle of programs.

I will just try and do it via the BIOS instead. Can anyone recommend the best settings to use to run my CPU at 4GHz without any problems? My spec:

i5-2500K
Gigabyte P67A-UD4
4GB XMS3 1600MHz memory
GTX 260, 216 core, 896MB
1TB F3 HDD
BeQuiet L7 530W PSU
