Hi guys,

Are there any known issues with the above mobo/ram combo? I have a DS3R v1 which has a couple of 1 GB PC-5300 sticks installed.

99% of the time my system is sound, but every now and then I have start up issues which are really starting to annoy me! I’m convinced it’s the ram causing the problem, but no matter what settings I try I always seem to end up back a square one with the issue :(

Anyone got any similar experiences (or solutions)?

Cheers,

SW.

It might be due to the vdimm - they are a tad off on this board and sometimes (maybe 1 time in 5) it'll boot up with a different voltage to what it usually does - tho shouldn't be enough to cause startup issues... i.e. 2.2 can sometimes be 2.25 and other times 2.28.

2.1 is the most reliable RAM voltage from my experience as it always is at 2.11 actual... 2.4 for instance can sometimes start at 1.9 actual instead of 2.38 or (whatever it droops too can't remember off hand) which won't boot with some RAM.

EDIT: Just seen you list PC-5300 which probably runs ok on 1.8 unless you have them overclocked a lot... so its probably not the issue here.

My Ballistixs in my P965 my P965 mobo doesn't require any additional volts, have also read that people set Ballistixs to 1.9v so give that a go.
