Recently did a system build with the above motherboard and a E6550 (2.33Ghz) with 2 Gigs of Corsair value PC5300 RAM ...

Got 2 x 80GB Maxtor HDD in RAID 0 (sata) and one 80 gig Maxtor Hdd connected as a slave to an optical Pioneer drive (IDE)

Under BIOS I have SATA raid enabled, as well as IDE/RAID selected for the SATA mode (as opposed to AHCI)

System takes quite a while to boot ..i.e. once it posts, it takes around a minute to get through the RAID being recognised by the mobo and then subsequent windows (Vista home premium) loading to appear ...

is this normal?
