Gigabyte P67A-UD7 in the house

So your graphic card will not display 1920 x 1200? Hmm I will test with at HD5870 in a few minutes just need to put the cooler back on it.

Hi all now ok , the one from his did the job all good now, you can put you pc back together :) Thanks for your help , might need a bit more over the next couple of weeks lol

Andy from a benching point of view the consensus amongst those who ken is that the UD7 is one mean fast motherboard. It is hands down quicker in 3DMark2001 and 32Mil Super PI compared to the other main rivals. So for once I lucked in with a quick motherboard. Now I just need to find a really quick CPU.

2 More 2600K ordered and on the truck. :)

I thought you had a quick one already !

question , which thing do you disable again for the core resting thingy again as i have taken it to 40 x and my 4.0 gig keep throttling back to 1.5

Not tested gpu yet, but is this possible for connecting my hard drives

Intel SATA 2 Controller [RAID]

sata 0 1 : DVD, SSD
sata 2 3 : 2 x Samung F4 both in RAID 0

Intel SATA 3 Controller [AHCI]

sata 4 5 :WD20EARS, ESATA

Marvel SATA 3 Controller [RAID]

2 x WD Scorpio in RAID 0

Since Intel SATA 2 controller is set as raid will I have problems with connect devices that won't be in raid array such as SSD and DVD Writer

Hi , where is the pll overide ?

i did the others and sure enough it stays at 4.0 gig know , i set my cpu tp 1.3volts manual and in cpuz it shows 1.044v ?

coretemp shows vid at 1.346 volts , all idle at 30 degrees, whats the importance of the vid and i wonder why my core volts is lower than in bios , any ideas ?

I have it turbo disabled now,

I am at 4.4Gig still says 1.044volts in cpuz and my vid in coretemp is at 1.36volts, set memory to 1866Mhz which is spd for this ram,

My board came with F3 bios btw. Not updating it though ! not whilst things are going well anyway.

Must say on another note those gskill ram coolers are crap , they hardly fit !!
Mind you the corsair gt ones weren't much better , How is yours going meansizzler ?

Which gskills did you get?, also why do you need to play with voltage I thought you just whack multiplier up and leave everything on auto and your on 4.6ghz in a few seconds..

Well the PSU was the culprit, Brand New Seasonic X-750 Gold Certified PSU!!!!, £150 it cost me for 750 WATTS, got it because fan only spins when needed and fully modular... but didn't expect that, no wonder y last 3 amd boards did not boot. although I did test with zalman, so maybe that faulty too..

Anyway I have P182 so need new PSU, what you guys use?... i'm thinking go Antec CP-850 to go with case, could get the corsair version of the x-750 but maybe that would be incompatable...

Hi glad you got it sorted, I didnt want to leave the cpu volts on auto as it may go too high , or higher than i feel comfortable with anyway. I guess the reason i cant adjust it is because i am on F3 bios as it looks like it was fixed on a later release, so i guess F6 here i come , well within a day or too.
I am amazed at the temps of the cpu , i primed it for a while last night and no core went above 50 degrees and that was at 4.4Ghz.
I got the 8GB G.Skill DDR3 PC3-14900 1866MHz RipjawsX

I see that the volts were altering ! i was using the wrong version of cpuz :)

Sorry Andy have been busy the whole day doing school stuff for my kids. CPU-z 1.562 or 3 beta will read the vcore correctly for SB

If you have bios F7e flashed then the option PLL over ride is found in the CPU options page. Third item down I seem to recall. Sorry not at home right now on the iPad.

Hi , I looked at the top of the thread when I thought CPUz might not support sb, I will flash to 7e later this week, what will disabling CPU PLL do for the overclock?
I have to say I love my Tagan remarkably small for 1100watts
I remember the ticking saga though

To over clock above 5GHZ you Will need to enable PPL over ride.

Settings are 1.440 vcore
The rest on auto.

That will get you over 5 GHz

Hi updated to F7a and enabled PPL , @4.6 gig now prime stable at 1.344v , enabled Loadline calib and set it to level 1 ,as i was getting a little vdrop under prime but tomorrow onwards and upwards ! and beyond

WooHoo!!!! :D 4.7GHz!
TB disable
PLL Enanbled
1.345 vCore
LLC Level 1
F7a BIOS!

That'll do for now me thinks. Oh, 30 degrees sound ok for an idle temp?
