So I put my lovely new rig together from OcUK and I can't get an image on my monitors but the PC posts.

- Both 6950 and 5770 don't produce an image when in the top PCI-E slot using either DVI or HDMI.

- Both cards produce an image to the monitor/tv fine when , mounted in the 2nd PCI-E slot, using both DVI and HDMI.

- HDMI to my tv straight from the mobo also produces a picture on the tv.

- When the 5770 is in the top slot only x1 top led on the card illuminates but in the 2nd PCI-E slot x3 come on after post along with an image.

Dead PCI_E socket?

:(

Nope, gave it a good blow ;)

PSU is a Corsair 520W so no problem there, everything fastened down fine and plugged in properly. 6-pin cable plugged in n the 5770 and x2 on the 6950, works fine in PCI-E slot 2 but not slot 1.

Also installed the ATI drivers but that won't help on bringing up the car LEDs

Usual suggestions of,

ClearCMOS.

Remove the RAM, power up, power off, place one ram stick in the slot furthest away from cpu, power up, anything? no? then move ever closer to the cpu and try powering up. Sounds mad I know but I have reasons.

Tried all slots, ram in power up, ram out power up then repeat all.

CMOS resets with battery in and out.

GFX card in different slots and selecting different gfx options in bios for first boot up, pci, onboard, PCIE16.

**** this ****!

.... and to top it off Windows has now decided to go crazy and tell me it isn't genuine and can't be verified no matter what I do!

Thanks stulid but I'm off to bed :/
