Agreed, it's pathetic the amount of people that have jumped on this thread just b-cos it's a bird (supposedly), these boards have allways got threads on them that have no replies, why can't people be this enthusiastic about their problems/requests, are we really this sad :(, I can see now why so many younger girls these days think they can just click thier fingers and the guys will come running, b-cos they can.

Yes, never give way to a blonde at a T-Junction.

In any case using p=va,

12X19.5amps=234 watts

the psu's got 234 watts available for cpu, hd's, fans and gfx card. WHich IMHO is cutting it fine to say the least, otoh does anyone know what that cpu will draw under full load? I'd say that the 7900 will pull 9 amp peaks?

look at the post title, that's what roused the interest, that's guys all over, I surf a lot of forums, everyone's chick crazy (we all are - just not all perverse). I draw the line at having pictures of half naked women in my sig though, too much of that stuff eveywhere already. Sadder still is when all people can do when posting to a women is use innuendo in every post.

Have you ever considered not being so nasty to people because they are not as 'clever' as you? I've seen posts recently in which you could have quite easily worded to be a little more diplomatic and kind to get your point over, instead you prefer to insult people for making a mistake, no-one's perfect, there was no need to call everyone thick.

seen, i do seem to go in with all guns blazing. but i work in a support role and its annoying when people just won't take advise when they know they are blatantly wrong.

from what i can see in this thread the op has taken a screenshot of the current psu they are using and from its rail ratings im providing factual information on what it can run without any problems.

19a on 12v rail with the rest of the specs of the system the op has given means that the psu will be able to cope with a 7900gt at the most. x18 or x19 may give problems.

As I asked for before - where do u get ** facts? Im not going to believe u or otherwise unless I can see the page where ATI says specifically that its true.

I think it may be one of those situations where the system wold run for the most part, with bsod's in certain intensive games. What'd happen next is the mystery, as psu shutdown behaviour can be very unpredictable, even in 2 psu's of the same model type. Forums are littered with posts explaining psu's taking out a lot of expensive equipmet when they go over spec. Sure, uncertainty always exists even with over spec components, but when you know that something could be a close call, it's better to advise a margin, hence I was talking about a new psu.

If someone knows the specs that the cards in question pull (i know the 7900's are a lot less hungry than the ATI 1800 & 1900 series), please do tell.

No-one seems to know the current draw of the cpu either.

I know that the HD's will pull an amp each (9w each a 12v), so that's got us to 17.5 already.

Cyber-Mav probably know is stuff that's why he's advising it, the only problem is that he does not always take the time to explain his reasoning, which I think people respond better too. If they choose to ignore a knowledgable post that's their choice..

I get around 253 watts with extreme psu calculator using 1 hard drive, 1 usb device, no overclock on the cpu, 2 X 120mm case fans, dvd-cd drive and a 7900gt. So it's close, a couple more devices and that'll be too much..

see for yourselves using the info, I know it's not perfect, but it's usually pretty close.
