Girl requires help!

This is the funniest thread I've read ages. Tears of laughed just rolled down my face as everyone suddenly went type-cast. Obviously I'm no exception, I'm dead pleased to be talking to a female about hardware too.

Anyway, the 7900gt should be fine though with that PSU. They use less leccy than most 6800 cards and all 7800 cards and I've heard of plenty of people running those on 350w PSUs. I'd say buy the card and only upgrade the PSU if you get problems. The 7600gt would be a safe bet and 350w is way more than it needs, but it's a fair old margin slower.

^^ Double that. Get the Card, any problems with Power, bang in a new PSU.

Good Luck.

I have never seen so many rapid answers for a simple upgrade question, which all it took was need to get a x1800xt or 7900gt ~£180 at the moment and a hiper type-r psu ~ £55. is really funny all these replies.

Glad I've afforded all you guys some amusment:)
Yes I AM a girl, yes I do call it a rig
ALL the info posted on this thread has been a big help in sorting out what I want to do with my fella's rig.
My own rig is a self build by my cousin, he's taught me a lot about PC's and I'm now interested in building one of my own but I'm gonna need help.
I'm glad I found this site; it's going to be invaluable!
And having some fun along the way is a bonus!

If I have probs with the graphics card I'll get back to you!

Oh for Christs sake give it a rest.

Way to preserve the "people into computers are largely sad virginal hormone bombs" status quo lads.

Ever stopped and thought for a minute that I might be taking the mick?

You are not ** post count. :)

Oh and duh, of course I am - it's the ultimate status symbol.

im gonna be simple and civilised on this one, its cool that some girls somewhere on earth are interesting in computers, so hats off to you for that one. a simple hastle free upgrade from 6200 would be same card as myself, 7600GT. there good points are 1) there faster than they sound (as fast or faster than 6800 ultra and they still run most games fine) 2) they require no extra power cables, there powered directly by the PCI-express slot 3) they don't use much power at all, there like a digital camera in terms of power usage and 4) for £140 there pretty good value for money IMO

Five pages and not one post about the actual process of installing the card?
Im shocked!! :D

ps; O n the girly tech thing; was shopping with the girlfriend yesterday and she wanted to see some lcd tv's.
I have never seen anyone(male or female) get so excited by a 32" samsung, I was almost obscene ! "I want that one !"
" No the 26" is too small!" " I want it now."
Cracked me up. :p

Lesson 2: If you do go shopping with her, leave your wallet at home.

Lesson 3: If you're under the impression that lesson 2 is even an option, she's already won. 'Discussions' about 'How is it a waste of money to get X number of shoes when you spend just as much on computer components?' will follow......and you will lose.

Lesson 4: Never argue if you enjoy the evenings :D

Lesson 5: Act disinterested and let her pay for it.

Reading your replies you guys are a right sexist bunch. :D
