Girlfriend is considering a 206 CC, opinions?

I was very very unlucky with my 206GTI, handled pretty well as it was lowered.

It was a great looking car in Moonstone silver, but alas it got broke into on my birthday (parked on my drive) and the radio stolen and it went down hill from there.

I eventually turned it into a boat one evening and flooded the engine with water driving through a puddle and bent all the piston rods in the engine and the car was wrote off.

I'd never buy another 206.

Same, but I got lucky I guess. Didn't miss a beat in 3 years. Would I buy another though if the situation arose for a car like that? No :)

Absolutely hated the dashboard plastics with a passion. Interior looked ok for its time, but omg the materials... :(

I assume you will have no financial commitment in the car, if so just leave her to buy whatever she wants

You are correct but I want her to get the best car she can for the money. More importantly something that isn't going to break down and cost her in the long run.

An MX5 ticks all the boxes and are reliable but women logic means that there is some unknown reason why she doesn't like them!

My GF has a 206 sport, bought it new because "it looks like a smiling cat". Absolute mentalist.

On the odd occasion I have the misfortune to drive it I'm always left with one lasting impression, and that's if I had to spend more than 5 minutes in the drivers seat I'd probably need my foot amputated because of the stupidly placed pedals doing some lasting damage.

My mothers 206cc went about 5 years with no trouble at all , don't think the new owner has had any problems either . A few bits of trim may of fell off though

Must be a RHD conversion thing. LHD, felt ok with me, Size 10 feet. Seating position was too high though. Hated the feeling of sitting "on" the seat, not sitting "in" it.

Indeed, the interior was horrible and terrible plastics where everywhere. Those horrible buttons for the A/C.

Mine was sound mechanically other than having a dislike for water.

I must admit, the pedals took a week of getting used to in my 206. It has a very plastic interior too.

Long story short, my parents wanted to replace the 206 and they sold it to me because I needed a car after my 1998 Corsa broke down with injector, glowplug and other issues :(

The corrosion was getting bad on the inner sill and brake master cylinder as well, so unlikely my Corsa would have lasted until the next MoT.

My missus bought one of these many years ago, 2003 plate. It wasn't very nice at all, noisy, crashy ride, roof stopped working twice, widow didnt seal properly when you closed the door, **** mpg, heavy, slow, seat adjuster broke, brakes squeeled. Sold it after 2 years thank god. Bought her an aygo instead and she loves it.

Get her in a new fiat 500 - it still looks cute but she'll have long warranty, inclusive servicing and very low tax...

Although they are complete DIRGE.

I've never been a Peugeot fan... Had a 205 (great), 405 (ok...), 406 (poor) and 306 (poor).
