girlfriend's car - write off?

Fox may well be correct about who is at fault in the OP's crash (actually, I'm pretty sure he is!). I didn't start an argument, I simply said it's wrong to say it's never worth claiming on a £700 car. That's an entirely different thing. :)

I had similar damage to my Fabia recently. New front wing, bumper, headlight and bonnet came to £1200. I was convinced it would have been a write off but insurance covered the repairs. Wasn't my fault though.

Similar damage on my car was due to a lady in an automatic getting her pedals mixed up while parking. She snapped a 2 foot wide sandstone gatepost after hitting it with her wheels on full lock. Amazing what people can do in seemingly innocuous situations with a tonne or two of metal.

Funny thread lol

Yes her fault. Damages on other car was quite bad on rear bumber and boot so the cost would be sky high. That's what the insurance is for!

Reason I asked will the car will be write off cos girlfriend will be very upset then i'll have to find exactly same car for her lol

Thanks again
