Speak to her, and say that her friend made you feel uncomfortable, as if he was trying to push you away. It shouldn't resort to violence at all, you just need to tell her how you feel.

Was it just you + the guy + the girl there, or were you there with a group of friends? If it was just the three of you, then I'm not supprised the guy didn't leave.

If you went out with a female friend and one of her male friends, and they were the only people you knew, would you go off and sit on your own, or stay with them?

Meh - can honestly say I been there (the guy) - he totally wants the chick. Definitely call/text - I wouldnt even worry bout growing balls, if you got her number call her - like now. Some chicks get miffed if u dont call them same night/latest next morning - "the game" is all well and good (guys would call after a week, woman use the 3 day rule). If u like(d) her u got nuthin to loose.
