Hi all

Giveaway of the day is giving away Win X DVD Ripper today, which is great because at some point soon I intend to rip all my dvds to my pc so I can set up a media pc and put my dvds away giving me a lot more room.

However, at the moment I am really really short on drive space and would like to postpone installing this software til I need it.

When I asked this about Paragon Drive partition software a few weeks ago, I was told this method:

1. Download “Paragon_DBPers_2010.zip” from GAOTD and unzip it.
2. You have now “Setup.exe” – this is GAOTD protected archive, you can unpack it only today! So unpack it.
3. You have now “DB10_Pers_Special_ea.msi”. This file is not limited to some period of time, you can keep it for future install/reinstall.
4. Run this file, you will see “get free serial” button. Click it and fill online registration form, Paragon will send you free product key and serial number in several minutes. Use the key and serial number to complete installation.
5. If “get free serial” button doesn’t work, simply go to
http://www.paragon-software.com/regi.../db2010se.html

However, when I runsetup.exe for the dvd ripper it just lauches straight into the installation of the the ripper and doesn't leave me with a .msi file or anything, is there anyway to get around the installing it today only for WinX Ripper?

Any help very much appreciated.

Probably not unless you check out your temp folders for any evidence of it before completing the installation. I tried this with something a while back and it didn't work out. Fact is, there are loads of freeware apps that do the same sort of thing out there.

Just thought it would be nice and simple, but as you say I can do it all with freeware stuff already really. Tho some of the presets are pretty good, for putting things on to my psp for example.
