giving bank account number - ebay related

sold my phone last night and the user hadn't had their paypal account setup yet so said if bank transfer is ok.

Giving them my bank account details and name, assume there is nothing wrong with that as it's the same as sending someone a cheque ?

As long as you've not given them instruction to debit your account, you'll be fine.

Cheque even worse as they would then have your signature.
Up to you. At the end of the day if the bank lets them withdraw your money then you cant be held responsible.

Yer, give them your name, the name of the bank you are with, sort code and account number, thats fine.

As long as the intention is for them to setup a transfer and put money in.

Give them your bank number and sort code, not the 16 digit number

Not a problem at all.

Lets face it, whenever you give someone a cheque you give them your account number and sort code, and that doesnt result in fraud, does it?
