With all the new restrictions in place, has anyone had experience in security objecting to taking car keys, a digital camera or mobile phone on your person as I am going on a cheapo flight and am only taking hand luggage. Ta.

They have a metal box where you put your bag in it, if it fits you can carry it onto the plane. I think liquids are a no no still. Everythign else i think is ok, apart from knives, siccors ect.

car keys? odd thing to take, but have them in your pocket and use the plastic tray near the metal dector should be ok. Mobile phones are ok as long as you turn them off on the plane when asked. Cameras are ok too, was when i took mine on the plane.

Have a good trip.

Thanks for the tips mate :) Car keys are for the car left at airport parking ;)

One other thing, make sure your socks are ok and your trousers stay up without a belt...

They made me and lots of others take the shoes off and your belt off at the metal dectors lol.. was fun seeing people not realise what happens when you take the belt off :)

Other than that, take a book, looooong ques!

If you see Paula at security, ask her if you can take a badminton racquet through. ;)

You can take keys, cameras, phones and wallets. They just have to go through the x-ray machine!

Your allowed liquids in containers up to 100ml.
