hi all,

I picked up something on the weekend which has made me pretty sick. I've got a really sore throat, fever, sickness, tiredness (not slept in two days), cant swallow, can hardly talk, joints ache, head is pounding, was sick twice yesterday and i'm sweating my knackers off just sitting here posting this.

To make matters worse I don't trust my GP. There have been a number of incidents with them since we changed doctors including them basically telling my wife that my eldest son just had a cold only for us to have to rush him into hospital a hour later where to diagnosed phunmonia (sp?)!

Anyway, I've got a job interview at 11am this morning, which I have to attend, but i'm not confident that I will be able to give my best because I am feeling really sick. I really want this job, I just don't think I get do my best at the interview :(

I once picked up a contract for the gould dogs for the blind even though I'd lost my voice two days ealier.. so there is hope there still.

has anyone else been to an interview when they have been ill?

Yes I have and depending on how the pills i've just taken work in the next hour or so I may well make that call.

I had someone come to an interview when they were ill. End result was that I wasnt at all happy when I woke up the following morning ill.

Do everyone a favour and call to postpone it.

I called in to prospone the interview first thing after posting this tread. I was basically told that they wanted to make a dicision today and that if, and only if, the other 3 people who are attending aren't what they are looking for they would reschedule for the end of this week.

DO NOT ATTEMPT AN INTERVIEW IF YOU ARE ILL!!

No No No.

If you got the interview through an agency, explain to them and they will reschedule it for you.

If you didn't, then call them and ask if the appointment can be re-arranged at THEIR earliest possible convenience. DO NOT say you are ill unless you have to. Say it's because of circumstances beyond your control...

But they won't reschedule, he's tried that already :(

That's pretty lame on their part. Go in and do your best. If you fail at least you'll probably end up giving whatever you have to the interviewer (and maybe anyone else in the building if you're lucky).

I take it then this isn't through an agency then and they are interviewing more than one person.

If he can't postpone the apointment then you'll have no choice than to go.. just make sure you get plenty of sleep and do your research.

If i were you in this case, I would be open and honest with them. Tell them straight away when you go in. Don't let them guess that something is wrong. A simple explaination and apology may go in your favour, as they may see you staright away as being honest and dedicated. Good Luck

This is what he said before. I'm not sure if he's gone or not?

I certainly wouldn't go in feeling like you are, you don't know what it is you have and just because it affects you in one way, doesnt mean it won't affect someone else in a far more serious way. I would always do what I can to isolate any infectious illness. Either way, I doubt you'd give much of an interview feeling like you are, and if they can't reschedule, its thier loss imo.

well according to his other thread in GD the interview was scheduled for 11am, and as he's being suspiciously quiet, I reckon he's probably gone cos he can't afford to miss out on it.

Hope it's going well :) Let us know how you got on and how many you managed to infect :D
