Going to Egypt next week

On the subject of sun creams, I saw recently a thread about 'P20'. People were saying it's good.

They do factor 10 and 20. Isn't that too low for Egypt? The friend I am going with says to put on factor 50! I'd like to tan and I don't burn in the UK weather without sun cream. I've never bothered before as never burnt, but then again I don't sit outside in the summer for hours.

The ice bar sounds good.

I'm not looking forward to flying. I don't like it :(.
 
Yes you can wear shorts and t's, no don't let any ladies you're with walk about in just a bikini top of the resort as it will only draw attention to you. Like in Turkey, I found the men can be quite lecherous.

Don't drink tap water, yes you can venture out of the resort.

In Cairo if you do decide to go, be careful around the pyramids there's lots of kids hanging about trying to sell you stuff and probably half operate as a distraction for the pick pockets. Try not to tip people openly in public, that will draw attention to you. Try and carry wet wipes around with you if you can, toilet hygiene of the resorts are IMHO lacking.
