Got a feeling the dash dials did have some sort of chrome looking rim to it.
 
@Fuzz - Fox will be well aware of this but if it is a facelifted E53 then it's a 4.8 and not a 4.6.

Also, maybe it's just me but :-

I've had a cherished number for over 10 years now and it's been sat on most of the cars I've owned at one point or another for varying lengths of time. Despite this, I've never been unable to recall what the year of registration was on any of those cars. As I said, maybe it's just me but I'd be a bit wary of any owner who can't "remember" something as fairly simple as what year a car they own actually is. :cool:
 
I don't think it's a facelift.

I was supposed to be working, I only had a quick look round it for its condition. The rest of the info was by word of mouth back inside the workshop.
 
It wont be a 55 plate if its not a facelift, probably a 53 plate.

One has to wonder how somebody knows so little about his car he thinks its 2 years newer than it really is..
 
Insurance is a funny old thing..
So I have 8yrs no claims on the 55 BHP 106 shed worth £500. It was about £180 to renew earlier this month.
So I ring them up for a quote on this 347 BHP 4.6L V8 worth £5500 and they only want another £170 off me.
Getting old does seem to have its uses after all!

BARGAIN. :D
 
Still pennies in my mind from what I was expecting to pay.
Considering the insurance group has gone from Group 7 to Group 49 I didn't think that was too bad. :eek:
 
FFS, spent weeks trying to get hold of him (he rings me, I miss the call, I ring him, he misses the call etc)
Finally catch up with each other last weekend whilst I was out on the bike, I would have missed it again had I actually been riding the thing but as it was I was stood in the belting sunshine fixing two punctures from hitting a pothole at 43mph :eek:
Anyway, long and short of it was he couldn't let it go for that as he could get 6k "all day long"
So we were four days from a bank hol - holiday I'd curtailed due to the expense of doing both..
Wind forward to now and I'm sat here in the airport waiting for the flight and I get a text "I've changed my mind you can have it"
FFFFFFFffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuu.
Explained situation and he's now prepared to hold on to it until I get back and saved up what I've just spent on the hol!
Having cake and eating it or has something gone wrong with it that I don't know about lol.
