seen a golf in the paper 2 weeks successively, so i imagine itll still be there by tomorrow tea time

87' golf (mk2?)

1.8 litre (non gti i imagine)

84k miles

few previous owners

MOT? 12 months

price? 395 (before haggling)

seems like quite a bargain to me, low miles, soon to be a classic car like a mini i imagine, full MOT (so should at least drive half decently) and its VW, so heres to hoping it hasnt fell apart in any way too damaging

seems quite cheap for what it is, just wondering what people thought? not sure what to look for, on A, golfs, and B, older cars, so any help would be appreciated :) gonna see it tomorrow at 6:30 if the guys in

everything. golfs at that age and price are generally pants.

Dead shocks, leaking engine, gearbox, all electrics. Everything basically. They're poor handling although the engines are ok and do seem to go on for ever.

I doubt it will become a classic like the mini. One reason is you can still buy new golfs.

Golfs hold premiums, all I can suggest is for taht price band. Get the best state of car you can. Rather than the best car.
