Going to see this car today - thoughts?

Aside from whether you like smurf blue, the price is very low, perhaps too low. I don't follow the Leon pricing as the Octavia vRS is usually cheaper, but I wouldn't have expected to find a 3 year old cupra for much less than £9k tbh. HPI it, and check it over doubly hard.

Remember you'll only have 10 months/12,000 miles before the cambelt is due for replacement, so make sure you price that in to your budget as it isn't cheap. :)

It's a Cupra not a Cupra R

I know, I wouldn't expect an average mileage 3 year old LCR for much less than £11k.

The colour will affect the price, but not by that much... I'd be thinking Cat D really.

That is pretty cheap tbh, its worth at least £7.5K. Agreed that the colour is vile though.

Check the rear doors for leaks, check the engine for hesitation or flat-spots (could indicate MAF or Coil-Pack issue), and check that the fans on the radiator spin when the air-con is on (The fans should spin CONSTANTLY at a slow speed with aircon on, regardless of coolant temp), and that the high-speed of the fans kicks in just after halfway on the coolant guage. If the fans don't behave like this you have the blown resistor fault on the radiator fans. There is a cheap fix (if you can solder basic electronics), otherwise its an expensive replacement.

I would still go and look at it.

Just make sure you do checks on the car, and take a look at other leons before you buy.

Extreme Blue - AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Very weak paint, chips more than any other (although paint on cars these days is generally not as tough as it used to be). For some reason, extreme blue just chips far too easily.

Oh and it's horrid - hence the price. ;)

Edit: Oh and black is also an easy chipper.
