Im going to test drive this over the weekend.

Unless there is something wrong with the car I will probably buy it, could someone tell me what I should be looking for when I go to check the car?
Is there any point in getting it inspected first? Its got 7 months OPC on it so I assume there is not much point bothering with an inspection as any major issues will be covered anyway?

Spec
2006 Targa 4, 35 000 miles
Switchable Sports Exhaust
Nav, Bose, PCM Phone
Heated seats
I also think its got Xenons and Full leather.

I would have liked to buy an S but I do not have a massive budget and I love the idea of the Targa.

I don't like the alloys so I have budgeted 1k after selling the ones on the car for a new set of Turbo alloys. I will also probably change the steering wheel as I don't like it also.

the Targa is the least in demand of all 911s and this affects price but I expect you already know that

it does look to have xenons from the pics

hard to tell condition as the photos are shocking, doesn;t look the best I have seen but again you know if the price is good

Thanks for the input, I understand that the Targa's are cheaper however I quite like them and would actually be willing to pay more for a Targa over a standard 911.

We had agreed a price of 27.5k with all things considered I think is a good price. He has sent me some high res photos and it looks to be fine I am not all that bothered about paintwork as I understand its normal to pick up stone chips.

EDIT: lol about the engine size, he sounds like a business man that does not know much about cars, he bought it form Porsche 18 months ago.

personally I found the 4 to be very dull, the only way they made it mildly interesting was with the 4s but that just screams midlife crisis.

The actual Targa part of the car is nice but I would wait for an equivalent 2s to appear or for some more cash to be freed up, the difference is night and day

Will Gill, I have found a couple of nice 2s' within my price range but I would like to have the glass roof.

I will only keep the car for about a year and then change to a Gen 2, I like the idea of having a 4 because there is quite a lot of snow around here in the winter but more because I have never had a rear engined car before and was a little afraid I would put it into a ditch.

Can you get a Targa S or are they too expensive?

EDIT: Looks like I'm being a muppet and there is only the Targa 4 and 4S??
